Professor James A. Momoh Confirmed Chairman of the Board of NERC
Electrical Engineering Professor James A. Momoh has been confirmed as Chairman of the Board of Nigeria Electricity Commission (NERC) after consideration of President Muhammadu Buhari's nomination by Nigerian Senate.

Professor James Momoh has been confirmed as Chairman of Board of Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). The confirmation followed report by Senate Committee on Power presented by Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe to the Senate on Tuesday. Senator Abaribe explained that the nominee was screened in line with earlier mandate handed down to the committee and in line with Nigeria Electricity Act and found competent.
'Mr. President, distinguished colleagues, the nominee, Prof. James Momoh was screened by the Senate Committee on Power. He has the credentials, and he has the experience. The Committee therefore has no objection to his confirmation and I hereby submit that he should be confirmed.'
After the plenary broke into committee of whole, the Deputy Senate President in a voice votes upheld the confirmation. Ekweremadu urged the NERC Chairman to move the sector forward.
