Williams Announced 2018 Research Week Winner

Candace Williams

Computer Science undergraduate student Candace Williams was announced as the undergraduate winner in the Physical Sciences and Engineering category for her research submission titled "Safe Space: Using Gamification to Provide Medical Recommendations for Sickle Cell Patients in Preadolescence."

Candace Williams is a sophomore in the Computer Science program in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Williams comes to Howard University from Norfolk, Virginia. Williams is a returning intern with Pinterest and an undergraduate researcher in the Affective Biometrics Lab exploring the impact of Human Centered Computing under Dr. Gloria Washington. Her research is supported through the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation program and the National Science Foundation. Williams aspires to attend graduate school and create inclusion through technology.
