Professor Ronnie McGhee Elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects

Professor Ronnie McGhee has been elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA). AIA Fellows are recognized with the AIA’s highest membership honor for their exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society. A seven-member jury consisting of FAIA members elevated 152 member-architects to its prestigious 2018 Class College of Fellows. Professor McGhee becomes the 20th graduate of Howard's Bachelor of Architecture program to reach this high honor.

Through his contributions to public policy, design, and civic responsibility, Professor McGhee has expanded the reach of the profession beyond the design of communities. He has leveraged his role as an architect (as principal of R. McGhee & Associates) to engage and advise activities that support and promote community transformation. Acting as an advocate and educator to communities about the value of architecture, history, and sustainable design, Professor McGhee was also recognized for using his integrated role as an architect, policymaker, and educator to support emerging professionals at Howard University’s Department of Architecture.

The formal induction ceremony will take place at the American Institute of Architects (A’18) conference in New York City in June 2018.
