Professor Tepper Gill Receives 2018 R.M. Santilli Foundation Scientific Award

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Professor Tepper Gill recently received the 2018 R.M. Santilli Foundation Scientific Award for Unprecedented Advances on Isotopies. The R.M. Santilli Foundation Scientific Awards were presented at the International Conference on Pure and Applied Mathematics (ICPAM 2018).

“The scientific awards of the R. M. Santilli Foundation, known as the ‘Santilli Awards,’ are granted for basic advances in any quantitative science, including mathematics, physics, astrophysics, engineering, chemistry and biology. The awards are granted by an International Committee for the intrinsic innovative values irrespective of its academic acceptance, thus being in opposition to other awards solely granted on the basis of academic acceptance” (The R.M. Santilli Foundation).

Dr. Gill was not expecting the nomination by a friend and fellow physicist in Italy or the award itself. On his advances on isotopies, he commented that the whole idea of isotopies actually has implications for cryptology and cybersecurity – a rapidly emerging and developing area of science.

Dr. Gill holds a Ph.D. in mathematics, an M.S. in applied mathematics and a B.S. in mathematics and physics, all from Wayne State University.
