The Howard University chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (Howard NSBE) was presented the 2024-2025 Large Chapter of the Year Award by the NSBE Region II Executive Board at the annual national convention earlier this month.

Howard University civil and environmental engineering senior Moriah Hamilton has been named to this year’s cohort of Schwarzman Scholars. The 150 scholars named to this year’s cohort were selected from a record high of 5,000 candidates worldwide. This year’s scholars hail from 38 countries and 105 universities from around the world.

Howard University civil engineering rising seniors Brooklynn Blackwell, Jordaina Hewitt, and Miles Davis received the prestigious American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Scholarship. Recent graduate William Hawkins was also recognized by the society as outstanding senior. The students were awarded at the 2024 Awards Banquet held by the ASCE National Capital Section.
